About Us:

Founded in 1884, Sefac pioneered the concept of mobile lifting for the heavy duty vehicle & railway industry with the first prototype in 1968. We began our presence in the United States in 1976 and are today a privately owned U.S. corporation. Sefac began their presence in the United States in 1976 and continued this pioneer spirit by becoming the first mobile lift company to obtain third party certification. Currently recognized as an international leader in the mobile lift industry we have an enviable reputation for supplying high quality products at an affordable price. As we specialize in heavy duty mobile column lifts, we believe that we can demonstrate a high level of knowledge enabling us to analyze our customers’ requirements with more clarity.

Sefac and Safety:
The SEFAC parachute nut consists of a bronze load bearing nut, a steel safety nut and a mechanical locking system that incorporates an internal wedge brake. In the event of a failure in the bronze load bearing nut, the SEFAC mobile lift utilizes two load holding devices. The downward motion of the load, forces the bronze nut down onto the wedge brake which grips the wedge brake onto the lifting screw and the entire system is permanently locked.

Here at Sefac we are obsessed with your safety and have, we believe, covered every eventuality. The SEFAC lifting screw is designed so that the weakest part of the screw is the shaft above the top bearing nut. If the screw fails, it would be this shaft that would fail. In the unlikely event of a screw failure, the load is supported by the top bearing nut.

We believe that is our responsibility to take care of your safety. That is why SEFAC® heavy duty mobile lifts are known for the inherent safety of their design. All SEFAC® mobile lifts feature an electro-mechanical, self-locking design that is based around an Acme threaded screw and a bronze load nut. We are proud that no other lift comes near us for safety.heavy duty mobile lifts

Self-Locking:
Acme thread type lifts provide greater safety than hydraulic systems because they are inherently self-locking. The lifts stop immediately when power is removed and cannot move again unless power is re-applied. They cannot drift from their position and they cannot lower unexpectedly. The laws of physics prevent this from happening.

Continuously Engaged Safety:
SEFAC® mobile ifts provide the ultimate in safety as they have a continuously engaged safety mechanism.

Non-Loaded Safety:
The safety device on SEFAC® mobile lifts provides greater safety because it is non-loaded, and therefore never subjected to wear. If a safety device is regularly or frequently loaded it is subject to ware and potential failure. In SEFAC® mobile lifts, if the safety device is ever loaded due to an emergency, the device cannot be reused, and must be replaced.
